Celebrating 2 Years of Hard Work!
For the past 2 years, in order to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most, my organization operating in Bompehtoke town, Sherbro land, Sierra Leone (SL), has been working hard to expand our rural development work to 6 more additional villages surrounding Bompehtoke, and to accomplish the following:
1. We are growing plenty of food in Bompehtoke town to help end the food shortage in SL.
2. Since rice is the staple food in SL, my organization has been providing rice seeds yearly for farmers in Bompehtoke and also for farmers residing in the 6 villages surrounding Bompehtoke town to help them grow more food to feed their families and improve their livelihoods.
3. We provided NLe 26,000 micro entrepreneur assistance grants for Bompehtoke women to empower them to start or expand their businesses.
4. We have ensured that healthcare is being provided in a clean, safe and hygienic environment by completing the total renovation of the Bompehtoke community hospital; and provided the hospital with much needed medical supplies.
5. We are constructing the very 1st secondary school building in Bompehtoke town and for the 1st time, this school will start providing high school education for kids in Bompehtoke town and the surrounding villages.

Celebrating Our Work

A Recap of 2025
In 2025, I Care, Koni Davies rural development initiatives was busy growing food in Bompehtoke (Sherbro land), rural Sierra Leone (SL) to help put an end to food insecurity in SL. And our main focus was rice because rice is the staple food in SL. We are happy to share that in 2025, I Care produced and supplied 34,888 pounds of rice to the agency that feeds school kids in SL and to the local SL markets.
We’ll be doing this all over again to surpass these numbers by the end of 2026.
